Pday is like a lost day for us. We don't really know how to handle ourselves. So we take naps and clean and do laundry. Today we will play volleyball and kickball and other games with our zone, too. And go get ice cream from la tienda in the CCM. We only leave the CCM once when we go to the temple. The temple is closed right now so we will only get to go to the visitors center, but that will still be exciting! We go either next week or the week after.
I MISS RED MANGO!! I basically have peanut butter and cereal every day here haha :)
3. Are you praying in Spanish?
I am TRYING to pray in spanish. The most effective thing we've done to study is make flashcards and then have a conversation back and forth where we have to use the vocab from the flashcard in each sentence.
4. What did you not bring with you that you wish you had?
I think mom sent me with everything I could have possibly wanted. And more. :) Mostly I'm worried about fitting everything back in my suitcases!
5. What made you laugh the hardest this week? Did anything make you cry? What made you most happy?
OH TOO MANY THINGS MAKE ME LAUGH HERE! Hermana Taylor trying to break dance was hilarious. She describes herself as a running tree from Lord of the Rings. So image that trying to break dance.
I was really discouraged yesterday about Spanish. But I just ran really hard during gym time instead of crying :) It was good therapy. And I talked to myself while I ran. I'm a little loco...
The Spirit always makes me happy! We taught a lesson to a 13 year old and a 15 year old girl this week and even though we couldn't really speak, it was really cute to teach such adorable girls!
Here are some other mushed thoughts...Spanish is rough. But it's also good. It's definitely a challenge. It's like the more I learn the more I realize what I don't know. So it can be discouraging, but I also am confident that I will be to the point I need to be at to teach the people God needs me to teach. Um being tired. YES. I was basically slap happy 24/7 the first week. Which also made everything really hilarious! haha :) I workout almost everyday. Sunday we don't. Duh. And then Saturday we have a service project instead of gym time. Most of the time I go to the track and run and then do other workout things. No music in the MTC. But that's okay because my roommates and I just sing all the time. When someone is in the shower it's like an LDS iPod on remix. Plus some broadway hits. Wicked and Les Mes grace our ears frequently. Also my roommate (tries) to break dance sometimes which is always hilarious. It wasn't a full 24 hour fast. Just skipping dinner and breakfast. It wasn't tooooo bad. But my lunch on Sunday was a little larger than normal.... Pit is getting discouraged. Peak is laughing. And we laugh a lot more than we get discouraged. Okay wait scratch that. Peak is feeling the spirit allllll the time. It's incredible.
I am so happy to be a missionary. There is no other place that I should be at this time. People are incredible. You will grow so much. I have grown so much. Things are hard, but it is supposed to be that way so that you can turn to the Lord and receive help. And He is always there.
