Saying goodbye is always hard, but I'm beginning to realize that it's just part of the mission experience. I will be saying bye to people I love all the time for the next 1 &1/2 years. But it's okay. You just have to make sure you tell them that you love them, give them a biggggg hug (or good handshake), and be grateful for the ways they have touched and changed your life. It's so important to trust in the Lord and know that His plan is so much better then yours. That's part of why I'm on a mission after all, right?
What has been the best part of the CCM?
Oh my the people have been the best part for sure. Not even a question. I have had the most incredible teachers and district and zone. It's been such a huge blessing. Our teachers have taught and strengthened us
Do you have new people to get to know now?
Yup! We got a new district two weeks ago and another new one yesterday. One of the girls from our two-week old district went to Brighton! So that's pretty fun! But it's crazy how close you get to these people that you are forced into friendship with in just two weeks! I LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH!
How is the language coming along?
The language is coming. I'm getting to the point where I just feel like I need to get in the field and speak it. I was called to serve a mission speaking Spanish in California, not called to learn Spanish in the CCM, even though I do know how important it is to be here and I am so grateful. And subjunctives. Ya we'll see if I EVER understand that.
What are you most nervous about as you go to California?
What am I not nervous about in at least some way? It's a huge change. But it's a wonderful and exciting change. I'm nervous about Spanish for sure. Our teachers our nice and talk slow, but anytime I talk to someone else I'm like...well yup...I got about 4 words in that 5 minute conversation... haha just kidding it's not that bad, but I will definitely have to be patient with myself.
How is the packing going?
BOOOO packing is no bien. Mom, can you just come help me please? Haha packing will be a challenge...pray for me. :)
Tell me about a miracle that happened in your life.
Wow, there have been so many miracles in my life. So many miracle people, I think. Here at the CCM, I think one of the biggest miracles has been how each of us has learned so much Spanish. Sure, we're not even CLOSE to being perfect, but we have learned so much. We would not have learned nearly as much as we have without the gift of tongues and God's help and guidance. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and He shall direct thy paths." I've realized how little I can do without God. He truly can do all things. Do not put limits on His power by doubting that anything is possible. He loves us, and that's a miracle on it's own because, speaking for myself, I am so so far from perfect and I mess up a lot, but He still blesses and helps be daily.
Thanks so much for all your love and support. I truly have been blessed with a great family and great friends. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I so appreciate the support and prayers and love. You are wonderful.
Lots of love,
Hermana Clark
