ANYWAY....
The highlight of the week for me was helping Lily to pray. Each time we have taught her, she has shyed away from praying at the end of the lesson because she likes when we pray for her and her family. This week, we were more persistant and encouraged her to pray. She did! It was so beautiful and peaceful and amazing to hear her pray. She still asked that we say another prayer after hers, which we gladly did, but it was just so awesome to hear her pray!
Okay okay okay. What else do ya'll want to know?
I got it. So we were visiting a family from the ward this week and we started talking about the husband's conversion. He said that the Book of Mormon and continuing revelation just made sense to him. He said, "You don't just kick your kid out when they turn 18 and say, 'Here's a book. Good luck in life!'" Haha, so true right? It just doesn't make sense that God would only give revelation for some of his kids and then leave a book for everyone else to figure it out on their own. The Book of Mormon and continuing revelation are such blessings to help guide us and are huge testaments of God's love for us.
So this week has been really good. I feel like I'm getting more settled in my expectations for myself and my mission and figuring out the more specific things I need to do to improve and goals I should set to do so. (Hello, run on sentence...sorry...) Especially this week, I have kept running into stuff about prayer in my personal study. I guess that's a hint that I can improve there. I really like in Jacob 3:1-2 when it says "look unto God with firmness of mind" and "pray with exceeding faith." Those are such powerful words. Firmness. Exceeding. It's a determined and thought out action and conversation with God. And to "pray with exceeding faith" means that you intend to act afterwards, because in reality, faith is action. God really does answer prayers. It's amazing. Prayer is cool. :)
Well, those were my favorite parts of the week!
Love you all!
