My testimony of the joy of missionary work has really grown this week! Exchanges with Hermana Griffes in Simi Valley were super awesome. First thing out the door, we were able to teach a cute girl named Jeice, she's 15 years old. We told her to close her eyes when we got to the first vision and really try to picture what was happening in her mind. She was beaming after. Hermana Griffes then testified of the truthfulness of the First Vision and that she knows through the Holy Ghost. Jeice cut her off mid-sentence and said, "I think I know what that feels like. I felt it when you told me to close my eyes!" And then a few minutes later she interrupted again and said, "I love this feeling! I want to tell all my friends about this! I want them to be this happy, too!!" I was so happy to smile and tell her, "You know what, Jeice, that's exactly why we are on our missions."
I love the scripture in Alma 36:23-25, it says:
23 But behold, my limbs did receive their strength again, and I stood upon my feet, and did manifest unto the people that I had been born of God.
24 Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without ceasing, that I might bring souls unto repentance; that I might bring them to taste of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be born of God, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
25 Yea, and now behold, O my son, the Lord doth give me exceedingly great joy in the fruit of my labors.
We shared this scripture with some members last night and I truly felt so much joy to be able to testify that I know that there is exceeding joy in missionary work. I am so grateful for my mission. I am so happy to be here. I love missionary work. It is a joy and a tremendous blessing to me.Amor,
