It was so fun to talk to you yesterday, dearest family! LOVE YOU!
Okay, can I just say, our area is amazing!!! I love this area so much. We saw some good progress this week, especially with the sweet Pacheco family. We could only meet with the dad this week, but we had a really good talk with him. In his words, he wants to find a church with good youth programs for his kids and a place where he and his wife feel welcomed and comfortable. Sound familiar? Plus, he's reading in the Book of Mormon!
Yesterday we saw another miracle. Jose, an investigator we dropped about 3 weeks ago, called us in the morning and asked if we were having services. YES! So he came to church with the branch president and then we had a good talk with him afterwards and taught him last night. Hopefully he will start progressing now!
Also, just a funny little story. We got a message from Gloria and Indalecio, our recent converts, yesterday morning saying that they weren't going to make it to church because they were doing things with their family for Mother's Day. Well, we called them right back and told them that Mother's Day is great and all, but church is a commandment. So they laughed and said, okay, okay, we'll be there :) They are so sweet! (And they came!)
So, yup. Hermana Johnson is so coooool! I love her! We are learning a lot as a companionship and she has truly developed into a powerful, focused, and effective missionary. I'm so proud of her! She is so obedient, loving, and bold. Really, she's basically perfect already. I love my companion!
My testimony this week is about the importance of serving God with all our might, mind, and strength. I was studying in D&C 4 today and it led me to a scripture in Acts 20 (I don't remember the verses). It is Paul talking about how he has given his all to the work of the Lord and how joyful he is. He was so determined to fight the good fight and was constantly led by the spirit, testifying mightily of Christ. I also reflected on the promises of our mission call letter this week. As we prayerfully and humbly serve the Lord, we will experience greater happiness than we can imagine. It's really neat how much God truly wants to bless us. In D&C 76:7ish it says that the Lord delights in blessing us. I think that's so special and such a huge witness of God's love for us.
