Our area is great. So we had lunch with Carmelo right before coming to emails and it was just such a great experience. He wanted to talk about his conversion and what helped him most, it was that the missionaries just wouldn't leave him alone. And then after he told us that he has like three friends he wants us to meet. So he's setting up appointments with them and taking us to meet them. What a champ. I love seeing the fire in him, and in any recent converts. They light up! It's so fun.
We're working really hard with the members, especially to strengthen the individuals and families. We've been working with the Mendoza family a lot and it's been so neat to see the changes in them. They are reading in the scriptures, and just this last week, the 8 year old grandson approached us and said that he wants to be baptized!
Along with that, it's been neat to see how a lot of the members have observed the work we've been doing with the Mendoza kids, because we've had 3 or 4 parents approach us about coming to meet with their less active kids, literally pleading that we do something to help. It's helped me put into perspective the importance of family, love, and trust. It's been a neat experience and I know that it's making a difference, I really hope that it lasts!!
Along with that, this morning I read President Packer's talk from this last General Conference and I just LOVE the line that says, "...the end of all activity in the church is to see that a man and a woman with their children are happy at home, sealed together for time and all eternity." It's so true! I love the push that the Church is making overall to make the Sabbath day more sacred. I have seen in my own life that I am more and more excited for Sunday to come. I hope that in my home, my family always knows that I love Sundays and that I am excited for church and to fast and pray and to be with my ward/branch family. It's something that is so important for families and I am so grateful for good parents who have taught me and shown me the importance of the Sabbath day. In the end, it's a personal decision, and we must have personal desires and personally witness to the Lord that we are willing to come unto Him and see and feel. His invitation is open to all. My companion is awesome. Her name is Hermana Lindy Green. She's from Sandy! She went to Jordan and Alta! She's so sweet and happy and just wants to do what's right. I'm excited for this transfer and I can already tell that I am going to learn so much from her!
It's been a good week and I'm excited to work really really hard this next week and see lots and lots of miracles!
